It was formed to provide education about the scientific principles of hot air ballooning and to offer the experience of tethered rides for persons with disabilities. Based in Alamogordo, New Mexico, the FLY THE RAINBOW team has flown at balloon rallies in New Mexico, Texas, Oregon, and Colorado.
